Spartacus

Spartacus was born of a free family, in the 1st century BC (around 93), in the province of Thrace, a province of Greek culture conquered by Rome. Very young, victim of a raid, he was sold as a slave. Unable to assert his status as a free man in a Roman court, he became a gladiator.
